Carabinieri in Bălți stopped a 19-year-old and found a plant substance that looked like hashish. A medical test confirmed he was under the influence of marijuana, and officers drew up an offence protocol.
A Grodno court convicted a 59-year-old man of illegally acquiring and storing marijuana without intent to sell after he found a jar of it near the railway station in June, took it home and used part of it. He was sentenced to two years' restriction of liberty without being sent to an open-type correctional institution, and the verdict could still be appealed.

A man and a woman were arrested with 50.85 kg of skunk in Primavera do Leste, Mato Grosso, on 30 October 2026 after police found the drug in cardboard boxes in the boot of their car. Both were charged with drug trafficking and association for trafficking, and the Civil Police said it was still investigating who was behind the load.

The Special Judge-II court acquitted Baldev Kumar and Suman Das in the Gutkar charas case, finding contradictions between police and independent witness accounts.
