An anti-crime patrol set up surveillance near rue Chopin in Besançon at about 7 pm on 27 October 2026.[1] Officers soon spotted a man on the car park carrying out several deals in succession, first with one vehicle and then with a second.[1] The man in the second vehicle handed over zip bags containing 5 g of cannabis resin and 2 g of herbal cannabis, along with 990 euros in cash.[1] He was arrested and placed in police custody, a term for detention for questioning, after a search of his car found 9.3 g of cocaine.[1]

The other man, who was on foot and had started the deals, ran off when he saw the officers, throwing an object over a hedge.[1] He was quickly caught, arrested and held in police custody with 340 euros in his jacket.[1] A search of his home found 600 euros in cash, 33 g of heroin and 516 g of cannabis resin.[1]

The 18-year-old said he had been reselling drugs since that same day and refused to give the identity of the man who gave him his orders.[1] He said he had bought the 5 g of resin just before his arrest from a person he could not identify, and that the 990 euros came from sales made that day.[1] He was due to be presented to the Besançon prosecutor on 26 June 2027.[1]

The 28-year-old admitted that he had at least acted as a “nourrice”, a stash keeper, for a week and supplied a few customers near his home.[1] He was sentenced to five months in prison and taken to the maison d’arrêt, Besançon’s remand prison.[1]
