Carabineros OS7 officers in Concepción, with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Biobío GOPE special-operations group and the Centauro unit, detained five Chileans aged 20 to 31 in two operations for drug trafficking.[1] The searches covered three homes: two in the Santa Sabina neighbourhood of Concepción and one in San Pedro de la Costa, San Pedro de la Paz.[1] In Concepción, investigators working with the Biobío regional prosecutor’s office said they broke up a group selling drugs by delivery and arrested three people.[1] In San Pedro de la Paz, OS7 control officers and Centauro first arrested one person for small-scale dealing, then, with a judicial entry and search warrant, entered a supplier’s house and arrested two more.[1]

Police said they seized more than 2,500 bulk doses of processed marijuana, 930 doses of cocaine hydrochloride, 2 grams of ketamine, six MDMA pills and 480,000 pesos in cash, plus other items linked to the trade.[1] They valued the seized drugs at more than 20 million pesos.[1]

Four of the five already had criminal records, and one was wanted on a 24 July 2026 simple-theft warrant from the Concepción guarantee court; the fifth had no record.[1] Detention-control hearings were held on 29 and 30 October.[2] Three were remanded in custody; the other two were still awaiting formal charging.[1]
