Two arrested in Laredo; man charged over more than 4 oz of marijuana
Laredo police arrested Eduardo Cisneros, 38, and Veronica Gutierrez, 36, after a counterfeit-money investigation led to a Boulanger Street residence. Cisneros was booked on 29 October 2026 on a marijuana possession charge of more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, along with other drug and theft charges; Gutierrez was charged with controlled-substance possession and released on bond.

Dallas Crips member Jamarian Hewitt, 39, was sentenced to 447 months, more than 37 years, in federal prison on 28 October 2026 for drug trafficking and firearms offences. Prosecutors said he sold 200 to 300 pounds of marijuana a week, branded Zillionaire Marijuana, from a South Dallas storefront where agents found a kilogram of methamphetamine and guns.

Dallas police arrested 25-year-old Jennifer Manzanares-Herrera at Dallas Love Field after three suitcases arriving from Las Vegas were found holding about 75 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed pouches. She was held in Dallas County Jail on a $25,000 bond facing a second-degree felony possession charge.

On 27 August 2025 DEA Houston and Stafford police searched 4003 Greenbriar Drive in Stafford, seizing about 1,200 pounds (544 kilograms) of marijuana from an illegal warehouse and detaining 18 undocumented workers handed to ICE for deportation processing.

Authorities seized more than 109,000 cannabis plants from a grow operation in Lipscomb County over the weekend of 5 to 8 June 2015, in what could be the largest such bust in Texas history. No arrests were made, and a joint local, state and federal investigation continued.

Customs inspectors stopped an 18-wheel truck entering Laredo, Texas, from Nuevo Laredo on 11 July 2003 and seized 21,947 pounds (about 9,955 kg) of marijuana hidden aboard. The driver was arrested on federal drug charges and investigators followed the load to its intended recipients in Ohio.
