Jamarian Hewitt, 39, a Dallas member of the Four-Deuce Oakland Crips, was sentenced to more than 37 years in federal prison for drug and gun charges.[1] The sentence was imposed on 28 October 2026.[1] U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr set the term at 447 months.[2]

Investigators said Hewitt used a storefront called “Exotic Pop South Dallas” to sell cocaine, meth, codeine, prescription drugs and marijuana marketed as “Zillionaire Marijuana” daily.[1] The shop was at 3401 S. Malcolm X Blvd.[2] Trial evidence showed he sold 200 to 300 pounds (about 91 to 136 kg) of marijuana a week from the business.[2] A search of the storefront turned up about a kilogram of methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills and multiple firearms.[2] A search of his home found another 14 pounds (6.35 kg) of marijuana, pills and ammunition.[2]

Operation Blue Laces, a federal investigation, began in January 2024 after complaints from residents and workers along the Malcolm X Boulevard corridor.[2] Federal authorities say 12 defendants linked to the gang have been convicted of federal offences under it, including drug conspiracy, firearms violations and carjacking.[2] Hewitt was on felony probation in Kaufman and Tarrant counties and out on bond in Dallas County while the conspiracy ran.[2] “For years, residents along the Malcolm X corridor lived with the fear and lawlessness that this defendant and his gang helped create,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould.[1]
