Two residents of Lwówek county, aged 25 and 33, were placed in pretrial detention for three months over robberies committed on 26 October in Wleń.[1] Officers located the suspects’ hideout and detained them, during which the older man insulted the intervening officers.[1] Both men had multiple prior convictions for property offences and allegedly acted in conditions of recidivism.[2]

During the police actions officers found 0.83 grams and 0.53 grams of marijuana on the men, a total of 1.36 grams.[1] Questioned by a prosecutor, both men admitted only to possessing cannabis herb other than fibrous hemp and denied the other acts.[2]

Investigators say the pair jointly stopped a 30-year-old cyclist, beat him in the face and stole his bicycle valued at 800 zloty.[1] The same day the 33-year-old suspect, Maciej O., allegedly forced open a window to enter a flat in Wleń, overpowered the occupant and stole an LG television valued at 1,000 zloty.[1] The District Court in Lwówek Śląski ordered the three-month temporary detention on the district prosecutor’s request, and the alleged offences carry from 2 years and 1 month to 15 years of imprisonment.[2]
