Warsaw criminal detectives went to a flat after receiving information that the couple living there might possess and sell drugs.[1] The 25-year-old man and 18-year-old woman who occupied the flat were taken into custody.[1][2] While the search was still under way, another man knocked at the door with a banknote in his hand and was met by a detective he did not recognise.[1] The 21-year-old was holding 50 zloty when he said he had come to see “Szybki” for drugs.[1][2][3] He admitted that he wanted to buy marijuana and had previously obtained it at the same address, and he was detained and later questioned as a witness.[1]

During the search, officers found jars containing marijuana and a bag containing mephedrone.[1][2][3] In total, officers secured almost 93 grams of marijuana and more than 120 grams of mephedrone.[1][2][3] Police described the haul as more than 200 grams of drugs in total.[1][3]

The 25-year-old and the 18-year-old were charged at the Warszawa-Praga Południe district prosecutor’s office with possessing a significant quantity of drugs and supplying them.[1][2][3] At the prosecutor’s request, a court temporarily arrested both suspects.[1][2][3]

The TVP account names the Warsaw VII district police command and its spokeswoman Joanna Węgrzyniak as the source of the account.[2]
