In the province of Trento, police identified 58 people, arrested four and placed eight more under investigation at liberty during an operation against youth crime.[1] The Trento checks were part of a State Police judicial operation carried out over the previous two weeks across Italy and coordinated by the Servizio Centrale Operativo, targeting young people allegedly involved in crimes against people and property and in weapons or drug offences.[2]

In Trento, officers seized 2,201.47 grams of hashish.[2] The same Trento operation also seized 1,344.81 grams of cocaine, 41.6 grams of ketamine and 15,745 euros in cash.[2]

Officers from the 106 Squadre Mobili, supported by Crime Prevention units and other State Police offices, focused checks mainly on drug-dealing areas and nightlife (“movida”) areas.[2] Police linked the targeted conduct to offences including attempted murder, assault, affray, criminal damage, extortion, theft, robbery, drug dealing and unlawful possession of weapons.[2] Nationally, the operation monitored 1,115 social-media profiles, seeking removal for three in Turin over violent content and weapons displays.[2]
