Carabinieri from the Mercato Saraceno and Sarsina stations arrested a 42-year-old Italian man at his home, where he was under house arrest for drug offences.[1] He is accused of receiving stolen goods, possession of a clandestine weapon and possession of drugs for dealing.[1] The deputy prosecutor in Forli ordered his immediate transfer to Forli prison, and the next day a Forli court judge validated the arrest and confirmed detention in prison.[1]

During a routine check inside the home, officers found more than 70 grams of hashish and a precision scale used for weighing doses.[1] Extending the search to the whole house and its outbuildings, officers found a .38-calibre revolver with an erased serial number hidden under bricks in the cellar.[1] Officers classify the gun as a clandestine weapon because the serial number was removed to prevent tracing its origin.[2] Officers seized both the drug and the weapon.[1]

The weapon will be sent to the RIS laboratory in Parma for technical examinations to establish its origin and check whether it was used in other crimes.[1]
