Special agents of Paraguay’s SENAD working at the Silvio Pettirossi international airport removed more than 20 kg of premium cannabis from incoming air parcels during the week reported on 16 October 2026.[1][2] The drug arrived from the United States in consumer-goods packaging, including tractor oil filters, a baby-bottle steriliser, royal jelly containers, insecticide bottles and coffee packs, and was described as high-THC cannabis aimed at the Brazilian market.[1][2]

Both outlets list five interceptions at the airport that together reached 20.020 kg: about 10.1 kg in tractor oil filters, 4 kg in a steriliser, 2.145 kg in royal jelly packaging, 2.125 kg in insecticides and 1.65 kg in coffee packets.[1][2] SENAD told reporters the cumulative load was worth more than USD 280,000 in Brazil, where premium cannabis can reach USD 14,000 per kilogram.[1][2]

The last parcel described was detected on Thursday 16 October from Miami, with more than 2 kg of cannabis hidden inside insecticide containers.[1][2] Controls involved SENAD, customs and detector dog teams, according to SENAD posts quoted by the newspapers.[1]
