The raids were ordered by a court in an investigation under National Law 23.737, Argentina’s drug law, and targeted homes where drugs were sold by the dose, a practice known locally as narcomenudeo.[1] Five people were detained: four men aged between 27 and 39 and a 64-year-old woman.[1] A 32-year-old woman was also apprehended and left at the disposal of the courts.[2]

Officers seized 118 wrappers of cocaine weighing 18.75 grams in total and 33 wrappers of marijuana weighing 35.75 grams.[1] They also seized 4,339,790 pesos in cash, eleven mobile phones, nylon cuttings and a pair of scissors, all added to the case file.[1] Investigators described the cash as the direct proceeds of the sales.[3]

The case continues under the direction of the judicial authority, which is seeking to establish what happened.[1]
