Three people were detained during a search for suspected retail drug dealing in San Benito, in Paraná department, Entre Ríos.[1] Officers of the Entre Ríos police seized packets of cocaine and cannabis in the raid.[1] Besides the three detentions, officers identified 13 other people linked to the procedure.[1] The search was carried out on the orders of Guarantee Court No. 4, under Judge Julián Vergara, with the specialised prosecution unit led by prosecutor Santiago Alfieri.[2]
During the search of the property, investigators seized two packets of cannabis weighing 4.2 grams.[1] They also seized 11 packets of cocaine with a total weight of 7.1 grams.[1] Officers took $1,042,600 in cash, mobile phones, a security camera and other items they treated as relevant to the investigation.[1] All of the material was left with the judicial authorities handling the case.[1]
The operation was led by the Operations Division of the Dangerous Drugs Directorate, with a tactical team from the Special Operations Company of the public-security directorate.[1] The investigation was framed under provincial Law No. 10.566, which regulates the pursuit of narcomenudeo, small-scale drug dealing, in Entre Ríos.[1] The Dangerous Drugs Directorate said further procedures aimed at investigating alleged drug sales were continuing in different parts of the province.[1]
