Sangareddy police, acting on a tip-off, were checking vehicles at Kandi Cross Road on NH-65 in the early hours of Monday when they stopped two cars and found 142.8 kg of dry ganja inside.[1] The seizure was reported the same day, 12 October 2026, with the contraband valued at Rs 71.40 lakh.[1]
The two men in the cars, Roshan Karni and Bibutha Rajtha, are both from Odisha and were allegedly carrying the load from Odisha to Maharashtra when intercepted at Kandi.[1] A night photograph from the spot, stamped 01:16 and marked Kandi, shows both accused crouching beside the packed parcels with the two white cars and the intercepting officers.[1] Both men were arrested as alleged peddlers, and the two cars and the full consignment were seized.[1] The spot photograph corroborates the night interception: it shows both cars stopped under an overpass with officers standing over the stacked brown parcels.[1]
