On local intelligence, a joint Anti-Narcotics and Badalpur police check stopped a truck at the Kudi Kheda turn on the Dadri-Lalkuan road on the night of 13 October.[1][2] A secret cavity built into the truck two months earlier to dodge checks held about 1.66 quintals of ganja, 165.7 kg worth roughly Rs 1 crore; the truck and an accompanying scout car were seized, along with four phones, cash and bank cards.[1][2]
Two men rode in the truck while the third drove ahead scouting the route.[1] All three โ Dinesh Pal, Sameer Kumar and Ravi Kumar Sahni, Bihar natives living in Delhi and Bihar โ were arrested and booked under NDPS sections 8, 20, 29 and 60.[1][2] The gang bought the drug in Bhubaneswar for about Rs 15,000 a kilo and sold it at four times the price to Delhi wholesalers and retailers, spending proceeds on an SUV, the truck, a taxi and a Mustafabad house.[2] Ringleader Pal had served about 15 months in jail after a 250 kg seizure in 2021.[1][2] DCP Central Praveen Ranjan Singh said the Delhi receivers and the transport company behind the truck are under investigation.[1]
