Municipal police in the capital of San Luis Potosí detained two young men in the Julián Carrillo and El Oasis neighbourhoods for possession of drugs.[1] Officers identified the man held in Julián Carrillo as Oscar Eduardo “N”, aged 26.[1] Officers identified the man held in El Oasis as Fernando “N”, aged 26.[1] Both men were taken to Civic Justice for medical certification and then to the State Attorney General’s Office on health-related offences.[1]

The first stop came during preventive patrols on Lanzagorta street in Julián Carrillo.[1] Police said officers there saw a man inhaling intoxicants through an object.[1] A preventive search found a total of ten Ziploc-type bags containing cristal.[1] The second stop came on Oasis street in the same-named neighbourhood after officers saw a man drinking alcohol in public.[1] Police said the man took an evasive attitude and tried to flee running.[1] Officers caught him metres ahead and saw him trying to get rid of an object.[1] A subsequent search found a package of marijuana weighing 180 grams, the cannabis quantity recorded here.[1]

The municipal force said both detentions resulted from the BOMI operation with the 12th Military Zone and the National Guard.[1] It described the actions as preventive patrols carried out with other security agencies.[1]
