Pidie police found and destroyed a cannabis field of about two hectares in hills and forest at Blang Pandak village, Tangse district, Pidie, Aceh, on Sunday 1 November 2026.[1] Police presented the discovery as part of efforts to break the narcotics distribution chain in Pidie regency.[1] Police said the remote hill and forest location with challenging access complicated the operation.[1]
At the site, police found about 350 cannabis plants with an estimated weight of 150 kilograms.[1] The plants were one to two metres tall, according to deputy Pidie police chief Kompol Firdaus Jufrida speaking for police chief AKBP Jaka Mulyana.[1] All of the cannabis plants were uprooted and destroyed at the location.[1] Seized evidence was taken to Pidie police headquarters for further legal proceedings.[1]
Firdaus described the seizure as evidence of Pidie police seriousness in eradicating narcotics and protecting the community, especially young people, from drug abuse.[1] He urged residents to help police by providing information about suspected planting or trafficking in their neighbourhoods.[1]
