Officers of Ouargla’s regional service against illicit drug traffickingarrested
one person in a neighbourhood of the city of Ouargla.[1]Investigators had
opened the case after information reported a suspicious movement linked to drug
trafficking.[1]The Sûreté de wilaya of Ouargla, the provincial police
directorate for the wilaya or province, announced the operation in a Tuesday
communiqué.[2]
Officers seized25 kg of cannabis in the same operation.[1]The operation was
triggered on the basis of the tip about the suspected drug-trafficking movement
in the city.[2]The same services’ inquiries led to the arrest in a district
of Ouargla and to the seizure of the reported cannabis quantity.[2]
After the legal procedures were completed, the suspect was presented before the
territorially competent parquet, the prosecutor’s office.[1]The communiqué
presented the seizure as confirmation of intensified security-service efforts
against drug trafficking across the wilaya.[2]Investigations were continuing
to identify possible accomplices and trace the supply chain in order to
dismantle the networks supplying the local and regional market.[2]The
authorities called on citizens to report any suspicious behaviour to the
competent services.[2]
No separate raid date was published; 3 November 2026 is the publication date of both accounts and is used as the incident date, with the operation announced in a Tuesday communiqué.
The suspect was not named and no age or other identifying details were published.
No charge, detention ruling or other court outcome beyond presentation before the territorially competent prosecutor was reported.
The reports describe the drug only as cannabis, without a resin, herb or other form breakdown, so the 25 kg is recorded as generic cannabis.
Only an unnamed district or quarter of the city of Ouargla was given, not a precise address.
The Horizons page image is captioned only as cannabis and the CapDZ image only as Ouargla, so neither is established to show this 25 kg seizure and no media entry is included.
Both accounts repeat the same Ouargla Sûreté de wilaya communiqué rather than providing an independent non-police account.
