During the previous week, officers of the Mobile Judicial Police Brigade of the Khemis El Khechna district security service, which operates under Boumerdès provincial security, arrested two people and seized 25 kg of treated kif.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Following the seizure and investigation, officers presented both suspects before the public prosecutor at the court in Khemis El Khechna.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Officers found the drugs during a search of one suspect’s home, seizing 225 plates of cannabis, identified as Indian hemp, with a combined weight of 25 kg.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] The 225 plates were concealed tightly inside plastic bags in a bedroom and had been prepared for distribution.[1][2][3] Officers also seized a vehicle that had allegedly been used to transport and distribute the drugs.[1][2][3][7]

The case began after the brigade received information that people were storing a quantity of drugs inside a dwelling in order to distribute it across Boumerdès province, particularly among young people.[1] Under the supervision of the competent prosecution service, judicial police then carried out field investigations that established the identities of the two suspects and the place where the drugs were stored.[1]
