The judicial police brigade of the Baraki administrative district, acting for the Algiers wilaya security services, broke up a criminal network specialising in drug trafficking, the wilaya security’s communication unit announced.[1] In-depth field investigations first exposed how the network operated and identified each member, letting detectives move in and arrest the five suspects one after another rather than in a single sweep.[1]
Searches of the suspects’ homes then uncovered the drug concealed on the premises: 14 kg 489 g of treated kif, described in the headline as nearly 15 kg.[1] Officers also seized 5 million centimes identified as trafficking proceeds and a passenger vehicle, the whole operation conducted under the supervision of the territorially competent parquet.[1] Once the legal procedures were completed, all five suspects were presented before the Republic’s prosecutor at the El Harrach court to face charges.[1] The case was reported around 12 October 2026, the date stamped on the seizure photograph published with the article.[1]
