Detective Branch police in Munshiganj arrested two alleged drug traders in a late-night operation at Muktarpur and seized the pickup van used to carry drugs.[1] The arrested men were identified as 23-year-old Enamul Haque and 22-year-old Md Shahin Hasan, both from the Purba Para area of Brahmanpara in Cumilla.[1] Officers detained them at about 2 a.m. on Monday, 2 November, in front of Asia Mill on Muktarpur road in Munshiganj Sadar.[1]
The team recovered a total of 14 kg of ganja from the two detainees, packed in three packets wrapped in khaki-coloured scotch tape.[1] Police also seized a navy-blue pickup van with registration Cumilla-Na-11-0774, allegedly used to transport the drugs.[1]
The raid was carried out by a Munshiganj district Detective Branch team led by OC Ishtiaq Ashfaq, with SI Kamrul Hasan and ASI Dipak Kumar, on secret information, according to district police superintendent Menhazul Alam.[1] Police said legal proceedings against the two arrested men were under way.[1]
