Lublin anti-drug officers detained eight men from Lublin and neighbouring counties.[1] The men were aged 27 to 42, with three aged 27 and the others aged 31, 37, 39, 40 and 42.[2] Police said most were linked to the pseudo-fan milieu of a local football team, using the Polish term pseudokibice for hooligan-adjacent supporter groups.[1] The District Prosecutor in Lublin charged all eight with trafficking a significant quantity of drugs, described as no less than 300 kg.[1] A court placed all eight in temporary detention pending trial.[2] They face up to 12 years in prison under Poland’s anti-drug law.[1]

Searches of the suspects’ homes and vehicles recovered significant quantities of various drugs.[3] The seized substances included clephedrone, marijuana, amphetamine and the potent psychoactive substance NEP.[3] Police put the combined haul at nearly 100 kg.[1] Police estimated its black-market value at about 5 million zloty.[3] Investigators said the drugs were intended for the local market.[1]

The operation was led by the drug-crime department of the Lublin provincial police under the supervision of the District Prosecutor in Lublin.[2] Officers made the arrests successively over recent months in Lublin and other towns in Lublin Voivodeship.[3] Officers from other criminal divisions of the provincial force assisted the drug unit in the detentions and seizures.[2]
