Kluczbork plainclothes officers detained a 42-year-old man during a night identity check in Kluczbork.[1] The man had drawn attention by waving his arms, stepping into the roadway and glancing nervously to the sides.[2] Officers approached him in an unmarked patrol car, and he first gestured for them to drive on.[2] When they stopped, introduced themselves and began the check, he immediately threw the packet he was holding onto a nearby property.[1] He claimed he had thrown away only a pipe and said he had previously been detained for marijuana possession and wanted to avoid further trouble with the law.[2]

Officers recovered the packet and found almost 200 portions of amphetamine together with marijuana.[2] Police secured the seized drugs for further laboratory testing.[2] The man was arrested and was later charged with drug possession.[2]

That offence carries up to three years imprisonment, and the court will decide his eventual penalty.[2] Police remind that drug possession is a crime in Poland and warn that drugs threaten health and life and can lead to addiction and unpredictable behaviour.[2]
