The Guardia Civil, working with Jumilla’s Local Police, dismantled a suspected family clan accused of controlling three drug sale points in Jumilla’s old town.[1] The operation, called Swart, led to the detention of nine people, five men and four women.[1] Those detained are under investigation for alleged drug trafficking, money laundering and membership of a criminal organisation.[1] Officers carried out simultaneous searches in four homes and two industrial warehouses in the municipality.[1]
Officers seized 86 doses of hashish, the cannabis component recorded here.[1] The same searches recovered more than 700 doses of cocaine prepared for distribution.[1] Officers also seized nearly 51,000 euros in cash, along with mobile phones, jewellery and documents, a high-end vehicle, simulated firearms and precision scales and preparation materials.[1]
The investigation began about two years ago after officers detected suspicious drug movements in streets in Jumilla’s old town in 2024.[1] Investigators said sellers used a self-service system that left doses at points on building facades for buyers to collect while throwing payment inside.[1] Officers also found the group offered a home-delivery drug service.[1] The investigation remains open to establish the full scope of the group’s activity.[1] The nine detainees retain the presumption of innocence absent a final judicial ruling.[1]
