The Guardia Civil detained the recipient of a parcel containing cocaine and marijuana in Palencia after finding it during an inspection at a parcel company.[1][2] The arrested person is under investigation as the alleged perpetrator of a drug-trafficking offence against public health.[1] After the discovery, officers identified the recipient, detained that person, and placed the detainee and the proceedings at judicial disposal.[1][2]

Officers had flagged the shipment during the inspection because it aroused suspicion that it could contain illicit substances.[1] Removing the outer wrapping, they found 50.55 grams of cocaine and 274 grams of marijuana, the latter being the cannabis amount recorded here.[1][2] Palencia en la Red independently reports the same finding of 50.55 grams of cocaine and 274 grams of marijuana after the outer wrapping was removed.[3] Radio Palencia likewise reports 50.55 grams of cocaine and 274 grams of marijuana, with the whole haul given a combined illicit-market value of almost 5,000 euros.[4]

The Guardia Civil estimated that the combined seized substances would be worth almost 5,000 euros on the illicit market, so no cannabis-only value is recorded.[1][2] The published accounts give no origin for the parcel and no details about its sender, nor the detainee’s situation after being placed at judicial disposal.[1]
