Police in İzmir searched an address in Konak, one of the city’s central districts, on 30 October 2026.[1][2][3] Two suspects were detained and held in gözaltı, the police custody in which a person is kept for questioning while prosecutors decide whether to bring charges or release them.[4][2][3] The searches turned up 1 kg 855 g of skunk, a high-potency herbal cannabis preparation that Turkish police and newspapers call skunk, and 4 g of cocaine.[1][2][3]

The operation was carried out by teams from the narcotics crimes branch of the İzmir provincial police directorate, the Narkotik Suçlarla Mücadele Şube Müdürlüğü, the unit that investigates drug supply across the province.[4][2][3] The İzmir chief public prosecutor’s office, the Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı, which oversees criminal investigations in the province, coordinated the work, described by the police as aimed at preventing the trafficking of narcotics.[1][2] Officers had identified the address in Konak before the raid.[4][2]
