Officers of the Grupo Especial Táctico, Guadalupe’s special tactical unit, detained 15-year-old Jorge Alberto in Colonia Cañada Blanca in Guadalupe, Nuevo León.[1] The deployment followed a citizen report that warned of a youth acting suspiciously.[1] Officers then deployed a search operation as part of the Guadalupe Seguro strategy and located the adolescent at the crossing of Nieves and Moyahua streets.[1] Personnel of Fuerza Civil, the state police force, also took part in the intervention.[1]

When he noticed the police presence, the youth tried to escape and threw a black bag onto the sidewalk, but officers caught him metres further on.[1] Inside the bag, officers found 32 packets with the suspected drug, described as small bags of green herb with characteristics similar to marijuana.[1] Officers detained him for probable responsibility for delitos contra la salud, Mexico’s drug-related health-crimes offence.[1]

The adolescent, identified as Jorge Alberto, aged 15, was placed at the disposal of the Ministerio Público, the prosecutor’s office, which will investigate and determine his legal situation.[1]
