Detectives of the Giza Criminal Investigation Department arrested an unemployed man with a previous criminal record on suspicion of trafficking narcotic drugs in Giza.[1] Police said information had indicated that he was promoting hashish widely across Giza.[1] After completing legal procedures and preparing ambushes, investigators detained the suspect.[1] When confronted with the seized drugs, he admitted in detail that he possessed them for the purpose of trafficking.[1]
Officers found a number of hashish slabs in his possession at the time of the arrest.[1] They also seized cash described as proceeds of sale and a mobile phone said to be used to contact clients.[1] He told police that he prepared the slabs for sale and cut them into small pieces to make distribution easier.[1] He added that he bought quantities at low prices and resold them at higher prices to earn illicit profits.[1]
He said he had made criminal activity his means of quick earning and he identified the source from which he obtained the drugs.[1] Police completed the required legal measures, filed a report on the incident, and the competent prosecution took over the investigation and ordered him detained pending investigation.[1]
