The Military Highway Police stopped a Fiat Palio on the SP-294 in Duartina, São Paulo state, on Friday 30 October 2026 and arrested the driver on suspicion of drug trafficking.[1] The stop was at about 18:00 at kilometre 382.[2] Three people were in the car.[3] The driver accepted responsibility for the load and said the two passengers did not know about it.[2] Police said he had a prior drug-trafficking record.[1]

Officers found 16.4 kg of Moroccan hashish in 30 packages and 3.4 kg of marijuana in five blocks, hidden in false compartments in the seatback, under the rear seat and in the dashboard.[1] The combined load weighed 19.8 kg.[2] The Military Highway Police estimated the load’s value at R$ 1.2 million.[1]

The stop occurred during Operação Finados and involved the Força Integrada de Combate ao Crime Organizado (FICCO), an organised-crime task force.[1] Officers took the case to the Centro de Polícia Judiciária in Bauru, and the driver remained in custody awaiting a court decision.[1]
