Police arrested a man in Jardim Fátima, Araras, at about 8:30 p.m. on 30 October 2026, during an overt and preventive patrol by officers from the 36th Battalion of the Military Police of the Interior.[1] According to the police, officers had spotted him near a property on Rua Luiz Lagazi, a location their teams already knew from earlier drug-trafficking records.[1] He started walking quickly as the patrol vehicle approached, prompting the officers to stop him.[1] A personal search found two portions of cannabis and 10 portions of cocaine, as well as R$4 and a Samsung A02 mobile phone.[1] The officers said they believed the circumstances indicated drug dealing and arrested him.[1]
He was taken to Pronto-Atendimento Mandic for medical assessment, then presented at the Central de Polícia Judiciária with the seized items.[1] After reviewing the occurrence and hearing his account, duty delegate Luiz Henrique Lima Pereira provisionally classified his conduct under Article 28 of Brazil’s Drug Law, which relates to possession for personal use, and ordered his release.[1] The responding team included First Lieutenant Zuffo, Corporal Covillo and Corporal Hebert, supported by Soldiers Perissato and Lombardi.[1]
