A man was arrested for drug trafficking and illegal gun possession by Brigada Militar units in Bairro Coimbra, Encruzilhada do Sul, on the afternoon of Friday 30 October 2026.[1] The operation was launched at about 14:30 by the 1st Shock Police Battalion (1º BPChq) and its Special Patrols (Patres).[2] The officers were on patrol in the town when they saw movement that looked like drug sales.[2] They stopped him on suspicion of drug dealing.[2]

A personal search found a loaded 9mm pistol whose serial number had been removed.[2] Officers seized a magazine and 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition.[2] They also seized 33 portions of cocaine, 87 portions of marijuana, a precision scale, a mobile phone, a shoulder bag and cash.[1]

The man was handcuffed and taken for a medical assessment before being presented, together with the seized material, at the emergency police station (DPPA) in Santa Cruz do Sul for the required legal procedures.[2] He was then taken to the prison.[2]
