Cairo security forces arrested a man in Al-Marg district on suspicion of trafficking drugs to local clients.[1] Information reaching the head of Marg station investigations said a repeat offender was trading in drugs and had made the station district a den for his criminal activity.[1] After Cairo criminal-investigation leadership was notified, officers were tasked with arresting the suspect.[1]

After legal procedures were completed and several ambushes were set, a Marg detective detained the suspect.[1] Officers found 200 hashish slabs in his possession, along with a shotgun, a mobile phone and an amount of cash.[1] Police presented the case as intercepting the dealer before he could distribute the 200 slabs to his clients in Al-Marg.[1]

When confronted before the head of East Cairo investigations, the man admitted possessing the seized items for trafficking.[1] He said the cash was proceeds of sales and that the phone was used to facilitate contact with his clients.[1] Police filed the required report and the Public Prosecution took over the investigation.[1]
