On 14 October 2026, officers from the Kraków provincial and municipal anti-drug units detained a 31-year-old man from Brzesko County on suspicion of drug dealing.[1] Officers also detained his 30-year-old brother after 218 grams of marijuana found at the 31-year-old’s residence was claimed by the younger brother.[2][3] On 15 October 2026, the Brzesko District Court placed both men in pre-trial custody for three months.[1][3] The 30-year-old was charged with possessing significant amounts of narcotics, while the 31-year-old faces charges of possessing significant amounts of narcotics and psychotropic substances and of growing cannabis capable of yielding significant amounts of herb.[2]
The 31-year-old kept drugs at the construction site of his detached house, where officers searching a large tool shed found a specially partitioned room hidden behind camouflaged doors.[1][3] Inside, police secured 41 non-fibre cannabis plants, the Polish legal term for drug-type cannabis, plus growing equipment including LED lamps, irrigation, air circulation and carbon filters in an insulated, sealed room.[2][3] In the house under construction they found 693 grams of marijuana and 232 grams of mephedrone, plus a heat sealer, foils, electronic scales and herb grinders used for portioning drugs.[1] The investigation is being run by the Kraków provincial police anti-drug unit under the supervision of the Brzesko District Prosecutor’s Office.[2]
