On 11 October 2026 Kumbalagodu police received an informant’s tip, recorded in a Commissioner of Police press note, that a large quantity of ganja was moving from Odisha to Kerala through Bengaluru in an Innova car, and registered an NDPS case.[1][2] On 12 October a team staked out the indicated spot and intercepted the Kerala-bound car near Eidgah Ground at Kambipura, apprehending its two occupants.[1][2]

Both men, from Kerala, confessed they had flown down to Bengaluru on 6 October, hired a self-drive rental car in R.T. Nagar, driven to Odisha and bought the drug cheap from an unidentified seller for resale to customers in Kumaramanagalam, Kerala at a higher price.[1][2] Back in Bengaluru on 11 October, they spent the night in a Bommasandra hotel and were caught the next day heading for Kerala.[1][2] The car held about 317 kg of ganja, seized with the vehicle at Rs 1.78 crore, Rs 3.17 crore at market rates.[1][2] The operation ran under DCP Soumyalatha S.K. and ACP Satyavati K.S. with PI Kumar leading the station team; the hunt for the Odisha suppliers and sale-side helpers continues.[1][2]
