Greek police arrested two men aged 22 and 23 in Athens on 1 November 2026 on suspicion of possessing and trafficking large quantities of processed cannabis, commonly known as hashish.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate said targeted investigations and intelligence established the alleged operation.[1] Authorities believe the two suspects supplied drugs across the wider Attica region.[1][7] Police said both suspects were already known to the authorities, and officers brought the two men before the competent public prosecutor to face charges.[1][7][2][3][4][5]

Officers stopped the 22-year-old in Kypseli and found seven paper packages containing a total of 590 grams of processed cannabis in his possession.[1][7][2][3][4][5][6] The 22-year-old allegedly resisted arrest by violently pushing officers, after collecting the drugs from his 23-year-old accomplice minutes earlier to distribute on the streets of Athens.[1]

The investigation then led officers to a ground-floor apartment on Ithomis Street in Athens allegedly used exclusively to conceal and store drugs, where they found the 23-year-old acting as custodian of the stash.[1][4] In the apartment officers seized 31 airtight nylon packages, each containing ten paper packages of processed cannabis, with a total gross weight of approximately 32 kilograms and 320 grams, some of which carried the label “DRY SiFT 2026”.[1][7][6] Officers also seized a car, a wristwatch, two mobile phones, a precision electronic scale, and fabric gloves and keys.[1][3] The Skai account confirms the same operation, with the 22-year-old holding 590 grams in seven packages in Kypseli and the second accused holding 31 sealed packages weighing 32 kilograms and 320 grams in the stash location.[8]

According to police sources, the drugs had arrived in the country from Spain by truck.[4] Authorities estimated the expected proceeds from selling the seized substances would be at least 160,000 euros.[4]
