Officers of the Béjaïa mobile customs brigade, under the Sétif regional directorate, foiled
a smuggling attempt of a considerable quantity of treated kif estimated at 144.3 kg, in
coordination with members of the National People’s Army (5th military region), according to
a communiqué published Sunday by the regional directorate.[1]
The operation also led to the seizure of 1.765 million dinars in cash and the arrest of two
accomplices, who were handed over to the competent parties to complete legal proceedings.[1] The operation was part of concerted efforts against smuggling networks and illicit drug
trafficking, to protect society and citizens’ health, the communiqué said.[1]
