Two arrested over $23,000 THCa plants in Macomb
Macomb police arrested Sean Hayes and Jacob Allen over an alleged attempt to steal THCa plants used in Spoon River College's cannabis processing program. Police say the men uprooted plants worth an estimated $23,000 outside the campus at 2500 E. Jackson St., and each faces theft and trespass charges.

Chicago man faces 14 felonies after 2.6 lb cannabis seized in raid
Evanston police arrested Ernest W. Pentek, 48, at his Rogers Park home on Oct. 30, seizing about 2.6 pounds of suspected cannabis alongside methamphetamine, other drugs, firearms and incendiary devices. He was charged with 14 felonies, including possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

Troopers cited raw cannabis odour in two McLean County traffic stops on 30 September and 1 October that yielded large bags of flower and related products.

Illinois troopers seize 5,858 lb of cannabis on I-80 near LaSalle
On 4 September 2026 a commercial vehicle enforcement stop on eastbound Interstate 80 outside LaSalle found about 5,858 pounds of cannabis and cannabis products in a semi-trailer; driver Mahmoud B. Bazrouk and co-driver Haed O. Samham were jailed on Class X trafficking charges.

11 tons of marijuana seized from rail cars in Chicago Heights
Federal agents seized about 21,800 pounds of marijuana from six rail cars from Mexico at a warehouse in Chicago Heights and arrested seven men in what officials called the area's largest seizure. The load had been found in Texas in November and delivered under surveillance.
