On 1 November 2026, a Wardha Local Crime Branch team raided the residential house of Prabhakar Bandu Pawar and his brother Gajanan Bandu Pawar behind Yashwant Primary School at Kelzar in Selu police station limits on a tip-off.[1] Both brothers were present in the house when police arrived and searched it.[1] Police said the ganja belonged to the two brothers and that they were illegally selling ganja bought from Vyankat Bhaurao Mohite and Janabai Mohite of Shivnagar, Wardha.[1]
Police treated all four as acting together to smuggle and sell ganja and registered a case against them at Selu police station under the NDPS Act.[1] Officers seized 2 kg 385 g of ganja valued at Rs 119,250 from the accused through an on-the-spot seizure report.[1]
The drive followed orders from Wardha Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal to the Local Crime Branch to take strict action against people possessing and selling narcotics.[1] The operation was carried out under the direction of Superintendent Agrawal and Additional Superintendent Sadashiv Waghmare by Inspector Vinod Chaudhari, Sub-Inspector Ashishsingh Thakur and constables Aravind Yenurkar, Roshan Nimbolkar, Sagar Bhosale and Ravi Purohit of the Wardha Local Crime Branch.[1]
