A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking on the night of Monday 2 November 2026 in Três Lagoas.[1] Força Tática officers stopped him in the Jardim das Violetas neighbourhood.[1] The encounter took place on Rua dos Trabalhadores during a police patrol.[1] He was riding a motorcycle when the officers approached him.[1] A check found that he held no Carteira Nacional de Habilitação (CNH), Brazil’s national driver’s licence.[1] He was given voice of arrest and taken to the police station for presentation to the police authority and further legal measures.[1] His motorcycle was collected and taken to the yard of Detran, the state traffic department, because of administrative irregularities found during the stop.[1]

A personal search found a tablet of green plant material described as resembling maconha, as cannabis is known in Brazil, weighing about 96 grams (0.096 kg).[1] Officers also found a mobile phone on him.[1]

According to the police account, he said when questioned that he intended to sell the drug to get money.[1] He also said he had bought it about two days earlier from a man who, as he understood it, lived in the area known as Predinhos.[1]
