Military police in Caratinga arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, in the Salatiel neighbourhood.[1] The operation began after an anonymous tip said the suspect had been involved in drug trafficking for some time, and teams then split between the area near his workplace and his home.[1] At his home, the suspect’s mother let the officers enter, and searches of the bedroom and other rooms found drugs and a magazine with two intact .380 rounds.[1]
Officers posted near his workplace located and approached the man and, searching his vehicle, found a small portion of maconha, or cannabis, near the console and a loaded .380 pistol, model HC58 Plus, with 18 intact rounds.[1] In total, officers seized maconha bars and portions, the .380 pistol, a magazine with two rounds plus 18 rounds that were in the weapon, a mobile phone, two precision scales and materials used to prepare and sell drugs, plus a knife and other objects shown in the seizure photograph.[1] Police checks indicated the man had been stopped before and that an arrest warrant against him had been executed in mid-2024.[1]
He was arrested and taken for legal procedures, and the case was registered by the Minas Gerais Military Police through the 62nd Battalion.[1]
