In the early hours of Wednesday 28 October 2026, officers of the Grupo de Reacción Torreón (GRT), Torreón’s municipal reaction group, detained José Miguel N. and Andrea Guadalupe N., both 23, in the colonia Alamedas, a neighbourhood of Torreón, Coahuila.[1] They were held after they allegedly tried to assault the officers during the stop, and were left with the competent authority for probable possession of narcotics.[1] A preventive inspection found two heat-sealed transparent plastic bags of green and dry herb with the characteristics of marijuana.[1] When they noticed the officers, both took an aggressive attitude and tried to throw punches.[1] The officers dodged the blows and brought the situation under control.[1]
The events were placed at about 01:29 on Avenida Ricardo Flores Magón.[1] According to the corporation’s report, the agents were on a surveillance round when they saw the couple pulling a bench in a public plaza.[1] They approached to learn why and to prevent possible damage to the street furniture.[1] The review of the pair turned up two bags of green and dry herb with the characteristics of marijuana.[1] The authority that received them is to decide their legal situation according to the investigation and legal procedure.[1]
