Police in Juárez, Nuevo León, arrested 19-year-old Arianna “N” during a patrol in the Los Cometas colonia, or neighbourhood, after officers found several doses of a herb resembling marijuana.[1] The encounter took place on the carretera a San Roque at its junction with avenida De las Torres, where officers were doing prevention work as part of the Calles en Orden operation.[1]
According to the municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, officers saw two women arguing and holding on to each other in the street.[1] When the officers approached to intervene, both ran north.[1] A female officer caught Arianna “N”, while the other woman escaped.[1] Officers searching her belongings found several doses of green, dry herb, presumed to be marijuana, and cash in her backpack.[1]
The teenager was arrested for her probable involvement in delitos contra la salud, Mexico’s drug offences, and was placed at the disposal of the Ministerio Público, the public prosecutor’s office, which will determine her legal situation.[1]
