State police and federal troops arrested four people in two operations in Acapulco, Guerrero, on 29 October 2026.[1] Three were detained during prevention patrols in Tuncingo, a locality of the port.[1] A fourth person was detained in the Lucio Cabañas neighbourhood.[1]
In Tuncingo, officers seized 70 small bags of suspected marijuana and 30 doses of a substance similar to crystal, the methamphetamine known in Mexico as cristal.[1] In Lucio Cabañas they seized eight small bags of a herb resembling marijuana.[1] In all, the state police counted 78 small bags of suspected marijuana and 30 doses of a substance similar to crystal.[1] Quadratín Guerrero reported a total of 108 doses of drugs across the two operations.[2]
A press bulletin said the operations involved the State Police, the Mexican Army, the Navy, the National Guard and the state Attorney General’s Office.[2] The operations were part of inter-institutional crime-prevention patrols maintained across the municipality.[1] Those detained are presumed innocent until a court rules on their responsibility.[1] The Public Security Secretariat of Guerrero urged residents to use the 911 emergency number and the 089 anonymous tip line.[1]
