🇹🇬 Togo
On 15 January 2026 Togo burned the previous year’s drug trade in one fire: more than 5,291 kg of cannabis seized across the country in 2024, within a total of 5,729.05 kg of drugs destroyed at Agoè in Lomé.[1]
The anti-drug office and the national anti-drug committee supervised the operation.[1] Security minister Calixte Batossie Madjoulba presented the destruction as part of the government’s effort to protect public health and young people.[1]
Cannabis dominated the pyre — beside 51.77 kg of cocaine and 8.5 kg of methamphetamine — a share that foreshadowed the record seizures the authorities would report for 2025.[1]
