San Luis Potosí’s Guardia Civil Estatal, the state civil guard, detained 33 people in recent hours during intensified operations across the state’s four regions.[1] The operations were described as part of the Integral Security Strategy and permanent surveillance work.[1] The force said the detentions were for probable involvement in offences including drug possession, family violence, robbery, carrying a prohibited weapon, sexual abuse and offences against traffic safety.[1]

During the same operations, officers seized 566 grams of marijuana.[1] The same haul included 80 doses of the drug known as “cristal”, which is excluded from the cannabis figures here.[1] Officers also secured eight vehicles, including one with a theft report.[1]

The state Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection said it would maintain operational deployment and surveillance in the four regions through a strategy combining prevention, intelligence work and response capacity to address the population’s security needs.[1]
