Monterrey police detained four people, including two women, in possession of 28 packets of suspected marijuana.[1] Officers detained Olga “N”, 45, and Mauricio “N”, 56, both from Jalisco, and César “N”, 44, from Ecatepec, State of Mexico, at Isaac Garza and Juan Álvarez at 16:25.[1] Minutes later, at 16:30, officers detained Victoria Berenice “N”, 40, from Tabasco, at Venustiano Carranza and Madero.[1] Authorities are investigating the four as suspected members of a gang that robs bank customers across the city.[1]

The first stop followed a C4 report about a silver-grey Chevrolet Aveo with Jalisco plates linked to criminal acts.[1] After intercepting its occupants, officers reported finding 23 packets of green herb similar to marijuana.[1] The woman was travelling in a black Geely Emgrand with San Luis Potosí plates when officers found five more packets of a marijuana-like substance in her possession.[2] C4 staff had detected the Aveo through surveillance cameras before officers located and intercepted its occupants.[2]

Police said the group watched people withdrawing cash from banks and placed sharp objects in their vehicle tyres to cause punctures.[2] While members pretended to help change the tyre, the women opened one of the doors to take the money and escape.[1] Investigators link the group to at least three robberies in Coahuila in March, September and October 2026 and another robbery in Colonia Reforma in eastern Monterrey.[1] Officers seized tyre inflators, screwdrivers, pliers, Michoacán plates and plate covers during the stops.[1] The four were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, which will determine their possible participation and legal situation.[3]
