National Police officers in the Dominican Republic arrested two men and a woman during an operation in the Capotillo sector of the Distrito Nacional, Santo Domingo.[1] Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira said the search took place on Calle Duarte, in the alley known as callejón Sibanito.[1] It formed part of the hunt for Vladimir Bisamal Yanki, alias “Boca 30”, an 18-year-old wanted by the authorities.[1] The detainees were identified as Marcos Augusto Rivera Díaz, Emilio Lucas and Esperanza Cuevas María, whom police described as the fugitive’s partner.[1] Rivera Díaz was to be sent to the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), while the three remained in custody for legal proceedings.[2]

Agents of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) found nine packages of a vegetable believed to be marijuana, 10 plastic containers with a similar substance and 82 ziplock bags of suspected marijuana.[1] They also seized a scale and seven machines in a deteriorated state.[1] The operation was carried out by the Operational Department II of the Central Unit for the Search and Capture of Fugitives, Rebels and Convicted Persons, with the investigation sub-directorate of Santo Domingo Norte.[1]

The police said their operations against the sale and distribution of controlled substances in the country remained active.[1] The search for Bisamal Yanki continued.[2]
