Hong Kong police ran an anti-drug operation codenamed Flash Arrest (閃逮) from 13 to 29 October 2026.[1] They arrested 11 men and two women aged 22 to 73 on suspicion of trafficking and manufacturing dangerous drugs, operating a drug den and taking drugs.[2] Some of the 13 had triad backgrounds, police said.[2] Two 29-year-old men have each been charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug, appearing at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts on 14 October and West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on 24 October; the other 11 remained in custody.[2]
Officers seized more than 32 kg of suspected drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, methamphetamine and etomidate, which police valued at more than HK$34 million.[1] The 40 g of cannabis was found on 29 October when officers raided a ‘drug canteen’ (毒品飯堂), a venue where drugs are sold and used, in Sau Mau Ping and a small drug warehouse in Sham Shui Po, along with 100 g of methamphetamine, a small amount of heroin and etomidate.[2]
Police identified a private flat in Hung Hom as a suspected drug warehouse.[3] On 13 October, officers lying in wait there stopped a man entering with a key and found more than 400 packets holding 406 g of cocaine, 320 g of Happy powder and 50 etomidate vape cartridges.[3] On 26 October detectives stopped a car in Mong Kok and seized 23 g of cocaine, arresting the driver.[3] In the final raids they found a second drug factory in the same Hung Hom building, with 30 kg of cocaine and crack cocaine and drug-making equipment.[3]
Police said the syndicate had operated since the middle of the year as a single chain that made, packed, stored and delivered drugs.[3] It hid the work in private flats and sent ‘drug fast cars’ to supply drug canteens and entertainment venues in Kowloon.[3] Manufacturing or trafficking dangerous drugs carries a maximum of life imprisonment and a HK$5 million fine, police said.[3]
