Ryazan drug-control officers, with SOBR Kolovrat troops from the regional
Rosgvardiya command, detained a 52-year-old Ryazan man at his home in
Barashevo village in Sasovsky district on 7 October 2026, Rosgvardiya
reported.[1] Investigators had learned the previously convicted man was
using the country house to store drugs.[2]
After a court-approved search, officers found two large sacks of plant
material in an outbuilding among household goods.[1] Testing showed
8 kilograms 630 grams of marijuana.[2] The man told investigators he had
grown cannabis on his plot in summer and processed it for himself; police
said they were checking that account.[2]
The Sasovsky district investigator opened a large-scale possession and
manufacturing case under part 2 of article 228 of the Criminal Code.[2]
A court ordered him held in custody pending trial.[1]
