Carabineros on patrol in the centre of Río Bueno, Los Ríos Region, detected people conducting a drug sale from a vehicle.[1] Officers identity-checked those involved and detained two men and a woman for alleged microtrafficking.[1] Police said all three detainees are adults and that two of them have prior criminal records.[1] The prosecution service directed that two of the three accused go to detention-control hearings for microtrafficking.[1] The third person was left apercibido, meaning released pending a summons to the prosecution service.[1]

The drug seized in the procedure was marijuana, already portioned into papelillos, small paper wraps.[1] Officers also seized a bladed weapon, cash, mobile phones and the vehicle the group was using.[2] The local account adds that officers found a digital scale and implements for portioning drugs.[3]

The operation was an extraordinary preventive patrol by the SIP investigative section of Río Bueno’s Fourth Commissary under Major Juan Cáceres.[3] Those detained were held in flagrante delicto and the case file was placed at the disposal of the Ministerio Público.[3]
