Two people were detained during a vehicle control on Ruta 5 Norte at the height of the commune of Nogales after Carabineros detected that they were transporting doses of cocaine and marijuana.[1] The inspection was conducted by officers of the Tenencia de Carreteras Hijuelas, according to information published by Carabineros of the Valparaíso Region on its social networks.[1] After the detention, both detainees were placed at the disposal of the Ministerio Público, Chile’s public prosecution service, in line with information released by the police institution.[1]

During the procedure officers seized the cocaine and marijuana doses found in the vehicle.[1] Officers also seized a digital gram scale described as a pesa gramera digital during the same roadside procedure.[1] Officers also seized cash in the same procedure alongside the drugs and the scale.[1] The procedure was carried out by Carabineros of the Tenencia de Carreteras Hijuelas, which also seized the digital scale and the cash.[1] This was a mixed case involving both cocaine doses and marijuana doses transported together, with the marijuana forming the separately supported cannabis component.[1]
